Hi lovely readers!! Well unless you have been living under a rock then you know that crushed velvet is EVERYWHERE right now. I have to admit it took me a little longer to jump on the bandwagon than most, not sure why I just wasn’t feeling it at first. Slowly I have been adding crushed velvet pieces to my wardrobe, a shirt here a bodysuit there, but I finally have added a few dresses including this Plus Size Crushed Velvet Dress from Debshops.
If you watch my youtube channel then you already know my ridiculous obsession with Debshops, I have also featured them on the blog before in this Floral Cold Shoulder Dress look and this Jewel Tone Off the Shoulder look. I’m pretty sure at this point half of my closet is full of items from Debs. I recently did another haul and try on with them for my channel (video is below). This dress was one of the pieces from that haul and I love it!
The Look
My absolute favorite thing about this dress is the color, it is a deep navy crushed velvet that catches the light in such a gorgeous way. The lace details on the trim give it some extra sexiness. I almost feel like it has a lingerie vibe without looking like you are out in the street in your pajamas. This dress is a stunner alone, so I just paired it with simple strappy heels and an oversized clutch. To complete the look I added some bangles and a statement ring.
The Fit
I am wearing a 3x and it fits great! Hugs the curves perfectly and I think the length is great as well. It falls just far enough above the knee to be sexy but not so high that you have to worry about a Britney Spears moment happening. FYI, crushed velvet is very forgiving on the lumps and bumps! I wasn’t wearing any shapewear with this and think it still looks great!
