First let me say I have never thought of myself as being a model, I just have a love for clothes and being plus size that can be a challenge to find cute and stylish clothing. When I started my instagram, I had a long distance boyfriend, I would send him daily pictures since we didn’t get to see each other everyday. Well since people would ask me all the time where I got my outfits, I thought why not use these daily pictures I take and start an instagram for curvy girls! That’s when Curves_CurlsandClothes was started. Since then, I no longer have the boyfriend but I still have Curves_CurlsandClothes, it is such a positive experience. I love it when I get messages from girls saying how I have inspired them to dress in things they never thought they could pull off! It makes me so happy to see other girls stepping out of the comfort zone and putting on things they have always wanted to wear but thought they couldn’t b/c of their size. Instagram allows me to connect with people I would never have been able to connect with before.
I have recently been getting offers from photographers and companies to do shoots with them, this is crazy to me but also scary and exciting at the same time. Like I said, I have never thought of myself as a model but if I can inspire even one girl to feel comfortable with their body then that makes me want to do whatever I can.
Recently I did a shoot with ARAY Photography. This first dress I picked up from Marshalls, it is so comfortable and flattering to the curves. The second I bought at Ross and added a denim jacket from Target. I love going to Ross, Marshall’s, JC Penny, forever21 and TJMaxx, I can find pieces to mix and match at very reasonable prices.
