Hi my loves!! How was your weekend? I spent mine watching all the Olympics that I could get in. I am 100% obsessed with the Olympics, my friends and I get together every time to watch the opening ceremonies. Personally, the winter games are my favorite so I am very excited to cheer on Team USA. Let me know in the comments if you are into the Olympics and what your favorite sport is. Don’t worry, this look is not Olympic themed in anyway. I have been wanting to try some items from Rue107 for years! I have been to the site a million times and lusted over their beautiful stuff, adding stuff to my cart just never going through with the purchase. Well I finally pulled the trigger and made some purchases. The first look is this Citrus Bite Plus Size Rue107 Dress.
The Look
First of all the color is AMAZING! It is bright and sunny, even more stunning in person than the pictures show. I love the ruffle detail of the off the shoulder neckline. Plus, I love that it still has sleeves, it is a mini dress so its nice to have the arms covered since it shows so much leg, all about that balance. The tie is optional, it comes with the dress but isn’t attached so you can wear it or leave if off if you prefer. I always struggle deciding on what color shoes to wear with yellow, I tend to go with a light neutral color. Black always seems too harsh when I pair it with yellow, so I decided to wear these neutral cork wedges with the dress. I did want to add a little pop though, so I added the leopard clutch to finish it off.
The Fit
Since this was my first time ordering from Rue107 I went with my usual size, an 18/20, which is a 2x in their stuff. This dress fits well but is on the short side so if you aren’t super comfortable showing your thighs (embrace those thick thighs, cellulite and all) you may want to size up for length. I have also been blessed in the booty department, so that makes everything a little shorter, especially in the back. Overall, I love the dress and the opportunity to start freeing the thighs in preparation for spring and summer weather. I cannot wait for some fun and sun, until then this dress will have to brighten up my life! I have another look from Rue107 coming later in the week that is a totally different vibe so watch out for that!
